Rsking Connections:  Trauma Informed Care

On November 14th at the Ko`olau Ballroom, Elizabeth Power & Associates, Hale Kipa and Ku Aloha Ola Mau sponsored a training called Risking Connections: Trauma-Informed-Care. Elizabeth Power offered this powerful training free of charge to 50 participants in lieu of the State’s recent natural disasters. The training was exciting, fun, active and clearly helped to change people’s perceptions and attitudes about the most difficult to managed trauma related behaviors. Mahalo Nui Elizabeth! Kū Aloha Ola Mau Cultural immersion with Kupuna Garmon

Cultural Immersion

Kupuna Pearl Ulu Garmon provided various retreats for providers in mental health and substance abuse hosted by Ku Aloha Ola Mau. Those attending were fortunate to learn from her rich curriculum of “The Natural Order of Balance” and beyond. Kupuna Garmon has been a blessing to all of Ku Aloha Ola Mau. Her tireless work with our Haumana has helped so many families and individuals in getting back in touch with their Hawaiian culture, their origins which helps awaken a deeper essense of where they came from and who they are and a foundation to address where they are going. She preserves and uplifts the culture in its highest form and provides the community a sincere and deep respect for the wisdom and aloha of the Hawaiian people. She is a blessing to us and to anyone who meets her in their life’s path.

Kū Aloha Ola Mau celebrates its 35th year anniversary in Hawai`i Business magazine January 2011 issue.
