Feelings of encouragement are important during times of stress. Each counselor at Ku Aloha Ola Mau specializes in encouraging Haumana to be their best selves in a nonjudgemental atmosphere. Feeling a sense of belonging creates higher self worth and through that, success is treatment is inevitable
While in treatment our Haumana learn new and exciting ways to cope with various emotional roadblocks. Through processing experiences in the past and accepting who they are, they gain a sense of empowerment which further aides in the succession of their treatment.
One of our major long term goals is to end the stigma that is wrapped around substance use or mental health in general. Through advocating, educating, and listening to our Haumana we pride ourselves on trying to ensure that no discrimination or loss of self worth occurs in our clinic. We treat people the way they should be treated verses by what their diagnosis is.
Here at Ku Aloha Ola Mau we firmly believe in ending the stigma and promoting the ability of each individual to get better at the pace they choose. We do on site assessments, treatment plans, individual counseling sessions, and even group sessions to name a few of the things.
It is estimated that only 20% of people with substance use disorders actually get the treatment they need. This is an epidemic and we need to try and get this situation under control.
