Allows doctors and counselors to use 2-way audio and video communication to deliver treatment at a distance. This new approach is growing quickly as it allows for clients to be able to speak with their doctors or counselors at any location, at anytime (which usually is set in advance). Patients can utilize their smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer with video capabilities. The platform utilized is fully encrypted and HIPAA-compliant.

Updates to regulations now allow doctors to provide medical care – including prescription buprenorphine – using telehealth. Patients may have a screening, assessment, and ongoing doctors visits without ever setting foot in the clinic. Prescriptions may be sent electronically to the patient’s nearest pharmacy, even if on another island.

    • STEP 1

  • STEP 2

    An initial over the phone screening will be performed.

  • STEP 3

    If you meet the criteria for buprenorphine treatment, you will be scheduled for a telehealth visit with a prescribing physician.

  • STEP 4

    A staff member will instruct you how to remotely connect with your physician at your appointment time.

  • STEP 5

    Following your first appointment, subsequent telehealth appointments will be scheduled for follow-up and counseling. If appropriate, your first prescription will be sent to your pharmacy that same day.
